XXIII «Rainbow» International Festival and Choir Competition

10/05/2021 - 12/05/2021

We are welcoming you to join the festival «Rainbow» ONLINE! Send the video of your choir performance (one composition) and information about your choir and you’re in!

International Festival and Choir Competition «Rainbow» named after Irina Roganovais held annually in St Petersburg. It’s a feast of music, friendship and unrivaled choral craftsmanship. It gathers children’s, youth and adult choirs from different countries.

The competition and Gala Сonсert take place on the best venues of the city. Conductors have a chance to participate in tutorial sessions and workshops led by the highly reputable members of the jury.

Unfortunately, Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2020 didn’t let us hold the XXIII «Rainbow» International Festival and Choir Competition named after Irina Roganova. In the year 2021 St. Petersburg will host the Festival on 10-12 May. The borders are still closed, which brings some changes in our agenda.

The competitive part (competition and Gala Concert) will be held live in St. Petersburg State Academic Capella. During the Festival we traditionally get our guests acquainted with the latest choral works, interesting performance styles and offbeat interpretations in conducting.

The festival part this year will have the format of live concerts as well as online publications in social media. Russian choral groups will perform in St. Petersburg cathedrals on 10-12 May and their video recordings will be published on the Internet later. Foreign participants are welcome to send video of the choir performance (one composition) and short text choir presentation. All these videos will be presented in social media throughout April.

To participate in the online festival part of the «Rainbow» please send application materials to rainbow@choirlab.ru not later than April 14.
All the publications are free.

Required info:
1. A short description of the choir’s activity
2. Photo of the choir
3. Video recording / link to a video or audio recording made not later than in 2019-2020
4. Link to your choir’s web-site and pages in social media
5. Restrictions on the publication and copyright information (if available).

We’ll be happy to meet you at the Festival!
