Estonian Chamber Choirs Union

Estonian Chamber Choirs Union (ECCU) was founded in 1997 in Tartu.

The first chairwoman of it was Laine Jänes. During the following years it was chaired by Eve Paap, Indrek Mustimets, Priit Penjam and Kalev Kukk. ECCU includes 17 choirs from Tallinn, Tartu, Türi, Põlva, Harju county and Hiiumaa island.

The aim of ECCU is to promote and maintain high-quality a cappella choral singing by organizing festivals, song competitions, concerts and trainings primarily for its member choirs, but also for other Estonian chamber and mixed choirs.
Over the years, traditional events have been carried out, but the list is constantly being supplemented with interesting opportunities and cooperation projects. In January 2014, ECCU signed a cooperation agreement with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
